The 19-year-old Ukrainian finished sixth at the World Supersport 300 Championship in the Czech Republic
Pilot of the Italian team "GP Project" Nick Kalinin returned to the track and completed the weekend of the world championship by fighting for the podium on the track of Brno. On May 13th, the Odessan was involved in a serious accident at the World Superbike stage in Italy, but only four weeks after the complex leg fracture did Kalinin start the race, only to immediately join the leading group.

From the first practice session, the motorcycle racer demonstrated that his goal for this weekend is not just to be an extra, but to become one of the main participants in the battle for victory. In the race, Kalinin was immersed in the first group, which was to decide the fate of the second place. Unfortunately for Kalinin, with three laps to go, Race Direction was forced to end the race early due to the serious incident of two riders: Rusmiputro and Kappler. The official results of the race were calculated from the last full lap, in which Nick moved from 3rd to 6th position.

Nick Kalinin # 22: "I am very happy to be back in the fight and bring important points for my team. Despite the fact that my leg has not recovered 100% I was ready to fight for the podium. Thats why the 6th place in the race for me is just a good result.

In my championship class the most important fight remains on the last lap. For myself I had defined places where I could pass riders and so did not risk without necessity before the last lap. Unfortunately, this time the fall of other drivers did not allow us to have a nice outcome of the race. On the other hand, it is important that I was able to return to the track already for this weekend and feel the strength to fight again."

The next stage of the World Supersport 300 World Championship will be held on July 8th at the Misano circuit in Italy.

Thanks to everyone who supported me through this time. I received many messages, and it helped me to recover faster. Special thanks to my sponsors Battley Cycles, AM Chain and RSVmoto. Now we can close the page with the fall in Imola and move on to continue to the goal."
