Before the start of the final round of the World Superbike championship in Qatar, Nick Kalinin and the German team Nutec - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki announce the extension of their contract for the 2020 season. Next year, the 20-year-old Ukrainian, sponsored by “Battley cycles”, will continue to fight for the world title in the Supersport 300 category.

In 2019, before the final start, Kalinin is in the top 10 of the World Championship. The best joint result of the Ukrainian-German tandem was the podium in Great Britain, where the Kawasaki rider started 31st and managed to gain 28 positions before the checkered flag.

Nick Kalinin #22: “I am very happy to remain in the team, where we have developed good family relationships. I like working with crew chief Frank Krekeler, I know that neither he or my mechanic Dennis will go to rest if we have questions. I am grateful to my sponsors and fans for their support. I want to thank them with the result.
My team and I have everything to fight for the title. We analyzed the work this year, made conclusions, and in the next season we will make even more efforts. As for me, I will do everything to fight for the title in 2020. In the meantime, we will focus on the race in Qatar and aim to fight in the final of the season with a victory.”

Rob Vennegoor, team manager: “We are grateful that Nick Kalinin has again signed for our team to participate in the 2020 World Supersport 300 championship on the Kawasaki Ninja 400 prepared by SKM
Last year we worked closely with Nick and his partners, a good harmony both with our complete team as also technical crew and Nick's enormous fighting spirit are important spearheads for working together again in 2020".

Together with Nick Kalinin in 2020, continuing to ride in the Nutec - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki team will be Australian Tom Bramich and South African Dino Iozzo.

The 20-year-old from Odessa will fight at the unique stage of the world championship under the artificial lights.

On October 26th, on the Losail International Circuit in Qatar, during the World Superbike weekend, the final stage of the FIM Supersport 300 World Championship will take place with the participation of 20-year-old Ukrainian rider Nick Kalinin. In the 2019 season, more than 50 pilots fought every weekend on the track, but only 29 riders received the chance to compete at Losail, and only the top 20 received support from the organizers of the championship. The Ukrainian will become the only pilot of his Nutec – RT Motorsport by SKM - Kawasaki team at the Qatar stage.

Nick Kalinin, despite the difficult season, is one of the top ten riders of the planet in his category and was selected without any problems to fight at a unique stage of the championship. Unlike other rounds, training and races at Losail International Circuit will take place in the evening under artificial lighting. In addition, the World Championship of the Supersport 300 category had never previously been held in Qatar, and its pilots had not trained on the track in Losail.

Nick Kalinin #22: “I am very glad that I will perform in Qatar. I am excited, but this is only due to the fact that I already want to be on the track as soon as possible. Since childhood, my dad and I worked hard to quickly adapt to new tracks; although, of course, Losail cannot be compared with any track I have been on before. Let's see how things will be with the lighting and in general on the track this weekend. On Wednesday, we will have the opportunity to have a track walk, this will be my first familiarization with Losail.
In any case, everyone is in the same conditions, and the leader will be the one who quickly understands the track and finds the lines. We will work hard, try and take risks!”

The first training session of the World Championship in Qatar will be held on Thursday, October 24th.

The 6th of September starts the seventh stage of the world championship in Portugal

20-year-old rider Nick Kalinin will compete at the stage of the World Championship in Portugal, which starts on September 6th at the track of Portimao. Kalinin, who is sponsored by Battley Cycles, will fight for the victory with the 54 fastest pilots in the Supersport 300 class. Before the summer break in the world championship, Nick triumphantly achieved a podium in Britain, starting from 31st position. The young pilot of the Nutec –RT Motorsport by SKM - Kawasaki team shows confidence for the upcoming stage, as well as the previous podium, the test results that passed during the racing holidays in Portimao. The newly-made World Championship prize winner with his team was able to work at the Portuguese track, and also try different motorcycle settings.

Nick Kalinin #22: “I can’t wait any longer for when we all go onto the track on Friday and start the fight in the second half of the championship. The break was almost two months, and it is not yet clear who prepared well for the stage in Portugal, and how. I trained a lot at home, worked a lot in the gym and on a motorcycle. At the end of August, we performed tests on the Portimao track. This is a very important point, because I have not been on such a difficult track for a whole year. I refreshed the lines in my memory, and I will work fast from the first session.

This weekend there will be changes in the list of the rivals, I do not want to make any plans, but my goal is to be on the podium, as at the last stage in Britain. ”

You can follow the results and news on our website or on the pages of Nick Kalinin’s social networks.
