WorldSBK: Nick Kalinin is ready for a double-battle for the prizes of the World Championship in Spain

On June 8-9th, two races of the FIM World Supersport 300 Championship - with the participation of Nikita Kalinin from Odessa - will take place at the Jerez circuit. At the previous stage of the world championship in the Italian Imola, the Race Director was forced to cancel the race due to heavy rainfall - which did not stop, but only intensified within a few hours. In this regard, for the upcoming Spanish stage, for the first time, there will be two races at once: one on the Saturday and one on the Sunday. It is worth noting that the pilots who will take part in the race “Last chance” will have less than two hours to rest before the main start.

For Nick Kalinin, rider of «Nutec - RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki» team, this situation for the weekend was a positive thing. At the previous round, Kalinin was in the leading group in practice, but due to technical problems he could not take part in qualifying and could not make an additional race to get into the main race. Now this weekend, the Ukrainian will start from scratch and he will be able to fight for a double victory in Spain.

Nick Kalinin # 22: “For the first time in Imola I felt that my motorcycle was really competitive, but that time I first encountered a number of technical problems that did not give me a chance to compete on the weekend. I did everything I could in Italy. Now I expect that the team will fix the problems with the bike, and we will repeat the good start of the Italian weekend and we will supplement it with the fight for victory in two races.

After Imola, I did not stop working, although I felt in good shape. Jerez will be very hot, so I tried to conduct training in this environment, so as to be prepared for high temperatures. For me, this stage is special, because for the first time I have a personal sponsor from Odessa - “Hotel Milano”. I am doubly pleased that I am supported in my hometown, where I and my family live. I am very grateful to the fans and all my sponsors for their support.”

After three stages of the World Championship, Nick Kalinin is in the 9th position in the overall standings among more than 50 of the world’s fastest pilots.
